Your Responsibilities:
Academic Training: Collaborate with partner universities in Fiji and Papua New Guinea to enhance mid-level eye care curriculum, ensuring its relevance and quality.
Management and Leadership: Work with local Workforce Support (WFS) managers to lead and implement WFS activities across the region.
Workforce Support: Support in-service eye care training and coordinate provision of eye care equipment and consumables (including spectacles).
Regional Programmes: work closely with the FHFNZ programme quality team to support the regional programme.
Qualifications and Skills:
• Relevant tertiary qualifications
• Clinical qualification and experience in eye care
• Lecturing and course management skills
• Experience of supporting professional development
• Team leadership and management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management
• Organized, detail-oriented, and flexible.
• An interest in Pacific countries and/or international development

Laser Eye Centre is a leading privately owned provider in NZ of vision correction procedures. Starting over 25 years ago, we now operate four
clinics located in New Plymouth, Hamilton, Tauranga and Pukekohe. We have an opportunity for an experienced Optometrist to join the team to perform eye health and suitability assessments in view of refractive surgery and advise clients of their options for vision correction.
Initially working 16 hours a week over 2-3 days. There is the potential for these hours to be increased, depending on practice requirements.
You need to have a New Zealand recognised optometry qualification, a therapeutic qualification and at least two years post-registration
experience.
